Biography

Xiaoqi Zheng is a London-based emerging Chinese artist. She received her B.A. in Literature from Shenzhen University in 2021 and her M.A. in Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2023. Her work has been featured in several group exhibitions worldwide, including 'Barely Noticed' at Four Corners Gallery (London, 2023).

Xiaoqi's practice is profoundly influenced by her background, drawing from both Eastern and Western philosophies and literature, particularly within expressive aesthetics. She often incorporates themes of identity, memory, and cultural metaphor and intersection in her works.

By exploring emotional geography, Xiaoqi focuses on everyday practices, the textures and objects of spaces and places, and the journey of self-exploration. Her work delves into both traditional and experimental photographic processes, including analog and digital techniques. She emphasizes the interplay of visual, tactile, and haptic vision, creating a multi-sensory experience for the viewer.
